One-day workshop on the NDPS Act, 1985
A one-day workshop on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, conducted for personnel of the 21st Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal at its Bagaha headquarters.
The Office of the Commandant, 21st Battalion SSB, Bagaha, invited Adv. Santosh Kumar Sharma, Special Public Prosecutor for NDPS matters at the Civil Court, Bettiah, to conduct a one-day workshop so that personnel posted at the battalion would have a working knowledge of the NDPS Act.
A border-guarding force meets the Act at the point where a case is usually made or lost, which is the search, the seizure, the sampling and the paperwork that follows. The session went through the scheme of the Act and the procedural safeguards a court later tests, and closed with questions from the personnel present.
